FAQs
-
A noise impact assessment is a potential for noise to adversely affect a given location or person. Often noise impact assessments are undertaken as part of the planning application process and will assess the noise generated from a proposed development or the impact of existing noise sources in the area on a proposed residential development.

The cost of a noise impact assessment can vary depending on a number of factors. If you are constructing a new residential development or converting an old building into residential dwellings that has separating walls and/or floors between two dwellings then you will need to comply with part E of the Building Regulations. You will need to ensure the sound insulation of the walls and floors between the dwellings archives the criteria outlined in Approved Document E of the Building Regulations. Sound insulation design should generally be done by an acoustic consultant or experienced professional, inquire below to discuss our sound insulation design services.

Yes, generally the Control of Noise at Work Regulations apply to all working environments. Especially if you operate a high-noise working environment such as a factory, or workshop for example. These regulations stipulate that any employer has a legal duty to reduce the noise exposure of all employees and reduce the risk of noise-induced health effects such as hearing loss. In order to assess how loud your working environment is you will require a noise at work assessment to assess the level of noise and advise on the best practicable mean of reducing the employee’s exposure to noise to acceptable levels.
